Theresa Evans - Wash # 57

Japanese Cherry Blossom Tree

Wet on Dry (Arches NOT) using alizarin crimson, cobalt violet, rose dore and a little sepia plus yellow ochre for the trunk & branches. I added plenty of spattered water and then dropped salt into the washes when the shine was going off the paint.

This works so well! The salt is quite subtle, and the overall tree shape has come out really well. This would make a great greeting card.

Very beautiful, you have captured those rose colour of the Japanese Cherry blossom so well. Ours is just about to bloom in the garden!

thanks everyone ... I love the blossom period. The garden always looks a little sad when they've all fallen.
